Mrs. Jackie Smith Teacher 216/226-3693 Voicemail: 216/227-8766 Health Careers Technology Open to Grades 11 & 12 Full year-3 credits per year 15 periods per week Application & interview required Prerequisite: Algebra 1 (completed or currently passing), biology or life sciences Health Careers Technology is a 2 year program that introduces students to medical careers involved in the treatment and care of those who are in need of health care services. This program is intended for students who are interested in furthering their education in a medical, nursing or health technology field. Students spend lab time at Lakewood Hospital where they rotate through specific departments learning health care worker skills. Students advance their technical and research skills through the study of disease, medical ethics and medical terminology. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit.
