Automotive Technology

Program Overview:


Students in the ASE Certified Automotive Technology program learn hands-on automotive diagnostics and repair.  Classroom experience using actual vehicles includes:                       
  • Brakes
  • Engines
  • Steering
  • Suspension
  • Electrical systems
  • Drive train components
  • Heating systems
  • Air conditioning systems
  • Balancing & alignment equipment
  • Lifts
  • Computer systems
Tools and equipment include:  hand tools, scan tools, brake drum & rotor lathe, balancing & alignment equipment, specialty & air tools, and lifts. 

            
        

Program Requirements: 

Automotive Technology 1
Open to Grade 11
4 credits junior year - 4 periods/day
Application & interview required
Prerequisite:  Algebra 1 (completed or currently passing)

Automotive Technology 2
Open to Grade 12
3 credits senior year - 3 periods/day
Prerequisite:  Auto Technology 1
