CONGRATULATIONS WEST SHORE CAREER PASSPORT RECIPIENTS
Career Passports are part of a growing trend among job seekers to highlight their education, experience, and accomplishments. During the assembly, 20 students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, 7 students received a Career-Technical Honors Diploma, and 28 students were granted the Career-Technical Award of Merit; students must meet rigorous academic criteria to achieve these honors. Leadership, Rotary Outstanding Student, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Work Ethic and US Cyber Challenge award winners along with the Lakewood PTA Scholarship recipients were also recognized. We wish these students ongoing success as they continue their education and/or enter the work force.
A special recognition to the following programs for their exceptional state and industry testing results:
Electronic Technology students had a 100% passage rate on end of program state exam.
100% of Business Management seniors passed their state exam as well but also, 50% of them passed at the accelerated level.
One third of the Interactive Media class passed at the accelerated level.
Cisco Networking had 61% of the students pass at the accelerated level.
100 % of the Culinary juniors passed their ProStart National Level One Certification.
Both junior and senior Health Careers students passed their State Tested Nursing Assistant certification and 100% of the seniors passed their Home Health Care Aide certification.
Early Childhood Education / Senior Services seniors passed all four industry certifications they had the opportunity to earn.
