Emerson Elementary has a unique group that has blossomed into an integral part of the school. “Thursday Drop-In” is an informal group that meets every week for coffee, conversation and to work on projects for the staff. The dedicated parents help cut out lesson materials, assemble recognition necklaces, and other odds and ends that benefit the students at Emerson.
The group is facilitated by Tara Shirley, Parent Resource Coordinator at Emerson.
The welcoming and ever changing group of parents is always looking for more helpers. Not only do staff and students benefit so do the parents who gain valuable support from each other. Parents share parenting advice, recipes, community/ recreational activities, insight into teachers and help with just about everything!
