RACHEL'S CHALLENGE PROGRAM LEAVES ALL INSPIRED

On Monday night, Sept. 24, approximately 200 community members were treated to an engaging and thought-provoking presentation by Frank Simmons of the Rachel's Challenge organization. Rachel's Challenge is a worldwide movement that has affected nearly 18 million people across the globe.

The program is based on the journals of Rachel Joy Scott, the first person killed in the Columbine school shooting in 1999. Simmons presented five challenges to the audience: 1. Look for the best in others, 2. Dream big; 3. Choose positive influences; 4. Speak with kindness; and 5. Start your own chain reaction.

The multimedia presentation concluded with a challenge to audience members to begin a chain reaction of kindness in their own lives. Another Rachel's Challenge community presentation will be given at Harding Middle School on Oct. 18 if you missed the Sept. 24 event.
