BOARD OKS HIGHER PREMIUM CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ADMINISTRATORS

The Lakewood Board of Education at its July 9 meeting approved amended contracts for the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, LHS Principal and amended benefits packages for the district's Leadership Team (administrators) and non-represented employees to bring all in line with the recently renogotiated labor union contracts with the district.

The amended contracts for Superindent Jeff Patterson, Assistant Superintendent Kevin Bright and LHS Principal Bill Wagner as well as the administrator and non-represented group benefits packages require employee contribution toward medical premiums to increase to 15%. Also, all administrators and non-represented employees will see no increase in their base pay for the 2012-2013 school year.

"We are appreciative of our employees for doing this so that we can balance our budget and allow us to maintain our academic programming," said Board member Linda Beebe. "It helps us avoid some of the more difficult decisions that would have to be made otherwise."
